The Retreat At Blue Lagoon Iceland Hotel Grindavik

Christmas at this hotel was an unforgettable experience. the hot springs and spa were absolutely amazing, providing the perfect place to relax and unwind. the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, accommodating all of our requests and surprises. the attention to detail in the rooms was superb, with some pleasant surprises. the tasting menu at the top restaurant was excellent, offering a culinary experience not to be missed.

Although the hotel offered a luxurious experience, it came at a high price. It is quite pricey, but considering the exceptional facilities, service, and surroundings, it is worth it for a special occasion or treat.

The location of this hotel is stunning, surrounded by beautiful lava fields, and it provided a unique experience when I went on a hike through the surrounding lava fields. The hotel facilities were excellent, with a spa and lagoon that were out of this world. The cleanliness of the hotel was top-notch, and the staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was truly exceptional.

During our Christmas stay at this hotel, we absolutely loved the unique spa experience it offered. the architecture and design were stunning, with beautiful lava fields surrounding the property. the rooms were luxurious and well-appointed, and the best part was the amazing shower. the food in the restaurants was exceptionally delicious and the service was faultless. We also enjoyed the huge spa, with its private lagoon areas and the breathtaking view of the entire blue lagoon from the lava top viewing platform.

One aspect we found disappointing was the dim lighting in the bathroom, which made it difficult to do hair and makeup. Additionally, we had trouble getting the wifi speaker to play music, which was frustrating.

Amazing staff, clean rooms, beautiful decor, private spa lagoon, excellent breakfast and teas.

Nothing to dislike.

The location of the hotel is a major highlight, with the private blue lagoon offering a more serene and peaceful experience compared to the crowded public area. Guests can enjoy the beautiful view of the lagoon from their Lagoon View Junior Suites, which are modern and well-equipped with amenities. The service throughout the resort is top-notch, and the breakfast served is of high quality.

Limited dining options within easy driving distance.

Luxurious amenities like plush bathrobes, cozy slippers, and exclusive toiletries were all provided in our room. the Spa & wellness centre was a highlight, with a steam room and sauna that were truly rejuvenating. the full body massage we had was top-notch, leaving us feeling refreshed and pampered. We also enjoyed the delicious in-room breakfast and loved discovering unique treatment rooms and private facilities in the venue.

The only small issue we encountered was that the service here was not as attentive as we had hoped, with some staff members seeming inexperienced. this was hardly enough to spoil our luxurious hotel experience or detract from the many positives.

The location of the hotel is truly convenient, as it is so close to the airport. Additionally, being situated on the lagoon provides a unique and picturesque setting for guests to enjoy. The private lagoon at the retreat offers a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, allowing for a truly relaxing experience.

One negative aspect to note is that the wifi in the hotel appeared to be slow in the evenings, which may be inconvenient for guests who rely on internet access during their stay.

Private pools, delicious restaurants, and a unique spa experience made this the best hotel we've ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable and the architecture stunning. We wished we had stayed for another night. The breakfast was outstanding.

Incredible luxury hotel, stunning architecture, exemplary service, 1st class environment, faultless experience. Northern Lights performed. Fantastic spa facilities, amazing breakfast and afternoon tea. Highlight of our time in Iceland.
